The Challenge

The hospital had recently acquired a VxRail and Cyber Recovery Vault from Dell Direct and sought assistance from an experienced team for installation and integration. Additionally, the hospital faced significant challenges in their IT infrastructure, including a lack of redundancy in their core router switch, which posed a risk to their operations.

During the implementation, the Weaver Technologies solutions architect identified a critical issue—the core router switch lacked redundancy, which could jeopardize the hospital’s operations if it failed. However, amidst internal security discussions, the hospital fell victim to a ransomware attack. Weaver Technologies swiftly deployed an on-site response team to assist the hospital. The attack had disrupted their systems, forcing them to resort to manual transactions and raising concerns about the exposure of private patient information.
Technicians from Weaver Technologies were immediately dispatched throughout the hospital to reimage every machine, ensuring they were operational again. Simultaneously, the team assessed the situation and utilized the recently installed cyber recovery vault, which had safeguarded all backups. Over the course of a single weekend, the Weaver team successfully restored all systems, resulting in a downtime of less than 48 hours.
